A little taste of Rohan

Hello Guys, it’s been a while. I haven’t got the time to log in lately and I won’t be able to do that in the foreseeable future as well, since I have just moved to Cologne, Germany.

Meanwhile, it happens that a big games conference was going to happen here, so I went to see what was going on and guess what I found: a LOTRO booth with a preview of Riders of Rohan!

I’ve got to play the small demo and ride a horse into combat and let me tell you, it is not easy! If you are galloping, you won’t be able to turn fast enough, so you end up circling the enemy, which is frustrating. But it makes sense. So you do not command your horse as when you are just travelling, it is a lot more sluggish, but you get the hang of it quickly, though. Soon, you begin to understand that you have to stop, turn around and charge again towards your enemies.

It wasn’t enough time to sense if the blow dealt was strong (and it wasn’t as Fal that I was playing, so I couldn’t really compare), but enemies died quickly.

Here is a (very blurry) picture of the action:

And another cool stuff that I managed to get are these buttons:

Well, that is it. A little taste, that’s all, but definitely something to look forward to!

See ya!

Results and new poll!

Here are the results of our poll “Have you pre-purchased Rise of Isengard?”:

Our new poll is about the likes and dislikes of our kinsmen, and maybe, the most important of them all. Since many of us have more then one toon – and those toons tend to be very different from each other –, I believe it’s a fair question to ask “Which class is your favorite”. I, for example, have created different toons to experience LOTRO in different ways. I’ve been pissed of with Falranion (cap), frustrated with Gilgalaras (hunter) and bored with Amgalaras (rk). But I love Fal’s flexibility  (and maybe now I’m beginning to learn how to be a better captain), Gil knows how to kick ass with 2 shots and Am’s powers are magnificent (specially the star-warsy, shooting-lightning-bolts-out-of-my-hands power!)  All classes have upsides and downsides, and our preferences may vary during the course of the game, so it’s ok to change you mind later, but right now, who is your favorite?

And feel free to justify your choice through comments on this post!

Down, down to Goblin Town

After a nice visit to our friendly neighbors, the goblins of Goblin Town, we (Mieja, Daerdreth, Ruphros and Gilgalaras) decided to rest a bit and make some marshmallows at Gollums Cave. Some of us had never been to Goblin Town and used the opportunity to start and finish many quests inside and visit it’s famous places.

Omnymax and Ireleigh came along for most of this trip, but had to leave sooner and although we were destroying every mob with certain ease, it all came to an end when Gil mistakenly fired arrows in the air and hit an army of trolls, who smashed us into pieces! He was very sorry for that…

To Carn Dûm!

Last night Omnymax, Blanzeflor, Asshley, Daggaroth, Poppytine and me (Falranion) did a little incursion into Carn Dûm and let me tell you, what an awesome place that is! I have never entered the main building before and I was flabbergasted with its detail, ambiance and difficulty! Even though we were a fellowship of 6, with 3 of us above level 60 and the instance at level 50, we had to be very careful or we would meet our ends (which happened to me quite a few times)!

So check out some pics of the place and our merry time there!
