A little taste of Rohan

Hello Guys, it’s been a while. I haven’t got the time to log in lately and I won’t be able to do that in the foreseeable future as well, since I have just moved to Cologne, Germany.

Meanwhile, it happens that a big games conference was going to happen here, so I went to see what was going on and guess what I found: a LOTRO booth with a preview of Riders of Rohan!

I’ve got to play the small demo and ride a horse into combat and let me tell you, it is not easy! If you are galloping, you won’t be able to turn fast enough, so you end up circling the enemy, which is frustrating. But it makes sense. So you do not command your horse as when you are just travelling, it is a lot more sluggish, but you get the hang of it quickly, though. Soon, you begin to understand that you have to stop, turn around and charge again towards your enemies.

It wasn’t enough time to sense if the blow dealt was strong (and it wasn’t as Fal that I was playing, so I couldn’t really compare), but enemies died quickly.

Here is a (very blurry) picture of the action:

And another cool stuff that I managed to get are these buttons:

Well, that is it. A little taste, that’s all, but definitely something to look forward to!

See ya!

  1. 😀 Nice post! Great to see Falranion enjoying his vacation!
The action picture is so dynamic that it blurs lol. Just seems that the action was off screen because the actual horses were still. lol 🙂
The buttons are really great indeed. I’m definitely anxious for the ROR launch. Already got my pre-order (base edition).
We should organize a kinship march to Rohan on launch! I’ll try to do that…

    Awesome post!

  2. Loved the “photo”!
It’s going to take a while for me to play again too, hopefully it won’t take too long.
In the meantime, awesome hunting for all!

  3. Ooo that looks pretty cool! It’s one thing to see screen shots and such being released by turbine etc but to hear it from a kinnie just makes me more stoked. Can’t wait til RoR! I hope the moving went smoothly. Much luck to you guys in Germany. 🙂
