Kinship guidelines

Omnymax and the Rivendell council

Recruitment

The recruiting season is open and we are doing great! Thanks to our officers for their untiring efforts in the last few weeks to make many active recruits join our ranks! Let’s establish and nourish these new relationships in order to grow a dynamic and active kinship. If you are not an officer yourself, you can help to recruit by indicating others. You can either send a tell or a mail in case none of the officers are online. Don’t forget to write the name of the toon indicated.

About officers, promotions, demotions and expelling

Some guidelines should be considered from now on.
1. No alts can be officers unless they reach lvl 60. – The reason for this is to make it clear for everyone how many people they can count on as officers, and to make it fair for everyone, preventing favoritism and players with too many empowered toons against the majority of regular members.
2. No one below lvl 40 will be promoted to officer – This is intended to create a strong kin leadership with members capable of helping most of the newcomers.
3. No one with less than a week in the kinship and below lvl 20 can be promoted to kinsman/woman, including alts. – This is to avoid exploitation of our items in the house and the possible crafted items made by other members.
4. Officers have a time limit of 40 days to be offline before being demoted. – Officers must be active and 40 days can even hold a full vacation time, when people might be inactive for a long period of time.
5. Kinsmen/women have a time limit of 90 days to be offline. – 3 months is enough, don’t you think? Even to cycle between alts
6. If anyone has been offline for 120 days, they will be expelled.

About the kinship house inventory

Having tested the new type of items suggested to be placed in the chests at the kinship house, I consider it’s time for a new change.
From now on, the chests on the first floor will contain only crit items, i.e, items that help to raise the critical chance when crafting. This way we still ensure everyone is covered throughout every level. The second floor chest will hold the outfits.

A few guidelines:
1. Do not take more than 10 from the same item.
2. Do not take items that you still have left from your previous withdraw
3. The items are for personal use only, no selling
4. Do not take the item for leveling, just for crafting or quest completion

As a part of the tradition in our kinship, it is suggested/recommended that all trades between members should be free of charge. (no payments involved).

Fellowship etiquette

Even the most solo player will have, at some point, to join a fellowship to run instances and raids. And it is exactly at that point where many misunderstandings can happen. So here comes some basic etiquette pointers for a pleasant stroll, with kinnies, inside the most dagerous places in midle-earth.

Beginners

  1. Stay close to the group;
  2. avoid aggroing the mobs;
  3. ask about the role you are expected to play;
  4. ask about boss tactics;
  5. pay attention to the fellowship chat window;
  6. be polite;
  7. respect the instructions from seasoned players;
  8. HAVE FUN!

Experts

  1. Remember you once were a beginner too;
  2. explain the expected roles to beginners;
  3. lead the way but dont impose the rithym;
  4. share your knowledge of the area and bosses;
  5. NEVER kick someone out just because the player keep dying or aggroing, talk to the player first, explain, help;
  6. be polite;
  7. respect what others have to say;
  8. respect everybody’s play style;
  9. HAVE FUN!

Keep in mind that people have different connections, computer performances, play style, family around…and all of these may cause some interference while playing in groups. So be kind and understanding with your fellow and remember you are all there to enjoy the game and have fun.

  1. Omny, I love the way you have stated the kin rules and created this site. Great screen shots and I’m very proud to have you as our leader. Now, if we could only get on better in-game schedules….

  2. Hey this is Jannin. I joined up last week and was just coming by to check out the guidelines. Love the blog site and so far I want to say thanks for all the help I have been receiving. I have been out of the MMO world for a while and really just picked this up to mess around with, but so far it has really been drawing me in. Thanks for the invite and I am looking forward to meeting everyone in game!
