Daughter of the Golden Wood

This is for my Minstrel friend, Maerilin.

She was a prisoner in the Frozen North with me, and through the long days and nights the sound of her voice drove away the cold of Forochel and kept away my nightmares. We were both given as a pledge to the Lossoth, so the rest of our company would return from their quest in case they were victorious. We all risked everything for one man, guilty of his crimes, but repentant. It was our love and loyalty towards him that finally allowed us all to sail back south, confident that life would be easier from now on.

Of course other hardships came and destroyed what peace we had worked so hard to build. Our captain was killed, his wife went missing, and I left my home in the Shire, determined to find out what had happened to our company. After wandering in the wilderness for months, stopping at every town and village to ask for them, I found Maerilin in Rivendell. She hadn’t gone home to L贸rien, so I met her by the stream that flows through the Valley.

Where would the Road lead us next? Were the others of our company searching for us, as we were searching for them?

Tell me if you have seen them.

Tilhi of the Stoors

A wandering Minstrel

Homeward, or a Hobbit’s search for a place to call home

My Hobbit girl on Landroval, Tilhi, has a long history of wandering around. She had a home once in Enedwaith, south of the Hobbit settlement of Maur Tulhau, but it was burnt to the ground, and after that she has lived on the kindness of others. Her circle of friends consists of many heroic figures but she is not quite sure where she belongs herself…

Everything belongs to me except for the lyrics! (cookies if you know the song 馃槈 the drawing was made listening to it)

An old sketch of mine

I don’t know if anyone reads these anymore but I just thought I could as well publish this since as far as I know no one has seen it yet. It’s a sketch I made a long time ago and it was never really finished, but instead of losing it in the depths of my hard disk, I’ve decided to share it with you. Please forgive the unfinished feel of it.

Extraordinary Screenshots: A Minstrel’s Job

Late one night, a plea for help came from the Hobbits of Tuckborough; brigands and goblins had attacked The Great Smials, and the scared Hobbits had closed their doors against the assault. However, they would not last long if the siege was not broken.

A brave band of warriors of all four races responded and swore to free the innocent Hobbits from their prison. At break of dawn, a great battle was fought on the hill of Tuckborough. Terrible and powerful liutenants of the Enemy spread fear and destruction, but for the songs of the Minstrels, the heroes never lost heart.

The Heroes of Tuckborough:

Helleka and Mieja as the Minstrels

Dagwolff as the Hunter

Melvien as the Warden

Jtweezy as the Rune-keeper

Jonronadan as the Champion

Extraordinary Screenshots: The Ford of Bruinen

This is first in the series of Extraordinary Screenshots I’m going to present you from my collection of respectable size. (And now you know one reason why I’m messing up the instances!) 馃槈

This shot is from our ill-fated Ford of Bruinen fellowship skirmish.

Mist hovers over the Ford and an eerie light illuminates the fierce fight going on in its midst. A Liutenant of the Enemy, a terrible Giant Frog聽 from Moria’s Water-works, has turned its attention to Angacuru and his loyal Herbalist, while on the other bank Daerdreth and Melvien are bravely opposing the assault from the forces of Orcs and Wood-trolls. Jtweezy is raising his voice to call forth fire and lightning, and Blanzeflor is looking a bit out-of-place as usual.

Remember to see the full view, and tell me what you think!

LOTRO Artwork

Greetings, fellow kinsmen and women! I’ve made some LOTRO inspired artwork among my other Art studies, and got an idea to share them here. Enjoy!

Omnymax Moonborne, our great leader and lore-master extraordinaire.

And here is my own character Blanzeflor, an Elven Huntress.

I used screenshots for details like hairstyle, clothing and jewellery but mostly I drew them the way they look like in my mind. Both sketches are made with pencil and paper, apart from the sepia colour and the backround texture that are added in Photoshop. Feel free to post your opinions! I also take requests for any future projects.
